Back in Edinburgh!!!

Well, so far, the trip has been just fab! It's so unbelievably great to see Paul again, as well as the flatmates, that I can hardly believe it (redundant, but who cares). I arrived in Glasgow and somehow got my tired behind from the airport to Edinburgh by 4:00 PM. The first night we went out to Massa and I danced my ass off. The first day I spent sleeping, honestly. I didn't wake up until 5:30 PM - I'm guessing jet lag plus dancing (I didn't even drink at Massa). The second night Paul, Kate, Emma and I went to Liquid Rooms where they were playing some really classic music. I did drink last night, quite a bit, but it was so much fun. I have a few pics from that night. We didn't leave until the club almost closed but I woke up frighteningly early today, naturally, at about 9:00 AM. So I got up, showered, Coco Pops, then headed out. I spent most of the morning wandering about the Royal Museum (although the exhibit I wanted to see was closed - drat!), then I walked up to the castle, took some gorgeous photographs and walked all the way down the Royal Mile, stopping at the Museum of Childhood. I went to the Scottish Parliament then, and had lunch at the Cafe at Holyrood Palace and then walked back to Fraser Court via Holyrood Park (more gorgeous photos). It was a fantastic day so far! I'm just loving being back. I adore this city so much, and I feel great, even just strolling about.

Well, back to having fun. See you all soon!!!

Hooray!

You Belong in 1960

1960

If you scored...

1950 - 1959: You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

1960 - 1969: You are a free spirit with a huge heart. Love, peace, and happiness rule - oh, and drugs too.

1970 - 1979: Bold and brash, you take life by the horns. Whether you're partying or protesting, you give it your all!

1980 - 1989: Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

1990 - 1999: With you anything goes! You're grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It's all good!

Last final.

Phew! Finals are over! Hooray! I don't know if I've ever been happier to finish exams. Probably because I don't think I've ever busted my ass so much - academics have consumed my life!!!

Anyhow, it was also a sad day, as we are all departing for our individual summers (and Tash is graduating!) - unbelievable. We (meaning Tutta la Famiglia) went down to South Street for Jim's Steak and Dairy Queen ice cream cake as a celebration. Mom is coming to get me tomorrow morning. It all feels very surreal. Speaking of surreal, I had the strangest experience walking home from High Rise North.

I got past 40th Street and this guy came up and started talking to me, casual-like. He was definitely a Penn student and looked like a football player. Just "Ready for summer? Where are you from?" and stuff like that. But we had a nice chat as we both walked home. His name was Paul and we shook one of those special handshakes before we parted ways. It was terribly weird and thus, fantastic. Then, after that, I saw a man who looked EXACTLY like Bill Murray in the Royal Tenenbaums sprint across the road, get into a car, and speed off. It was a very strange walk home.

I love strangeness. I need more Diet Coke if I'm going to finish this present for my mum. Sweet dreams friends and lovers.

Quick update and a few reviews.

Just so y'all know, I got an "A" on my UK Housing Market Paper, which fills me with pride to no end. All that stress/hard work/panicking did eventually pay off. Thanks to Paul for explaining council housing to my silly American self.

Still studying, however. Management final tomorrow which I hope goes well. I've worked ridiculously hard this semester and it would be nice to have some decent grades to show for it for once.

Sin City: Really enjoyed this movie, though it was a bit disturbing. The cinematography was amazing, as was the graphic novel-inspired dialogue. Frightened me a bit, but in a good way.

Melinda and Melinda: Ok, I'm definitely a bit biased on this one, but I really enjoyed it too. Will Ferrell was amazing and I found it a bit creepy that at the beginning, their Melinda preferred single malt scotch as well (although that's pretty much where the similarities ended). Good job, Mr. Allen.

Beck, Guero: Loving this cd. Everyone must purchase it immediately. I'm so glad that Beck has reinstated his funkiness. Hell Yes and Guero are some of the more noticeable tracks, at least to me (although again, I'm biased towards music you can shake your "automatic bazootie" to).

Well, that's it for now kids. I'm heading out on Saturday, though I will be occasionally frequenting campus until returning for good after Memorial Day.

Current music: Trainspotting Soundtrack...never gets old.

This is clearly me, trying on my sister's prom dress that is actually a wedding dress. I almost wore this to the formal, but I knew she'd KILL me. I look gorgeous though, huh? Posted by Hello

UK Housing Market Bohemoth - check!

I turned in my 40 page paper on the UK housing market today at 5 PM... my goodness did it feel good. It has been the bane of my existence as of late (thus the lack of new entries). About half of the pages were graphs, but still, it was a hard ass paper and definitely the longest and most involved one I've ever written. But it is beautiful and out of my hands now. Now I can move on to....

BPUB! Yeah, that's right, no breaks for me. Test tomorrow in BPUB and I really need to do well on it (even though my awesome team did have the best presentation in the class!).

I called my flatmates tonight, that was really nice. I do miss them and all the fun we used to have. Apparently the new American in the flat is less than a desirable flatmate. Ah well. And it was White Ryan's birthday apparently (very few of you will know who that is), but we called him White Ryan as there were two Ryans in our little group: one was White Ryan and one was Brown Ryan. It worked out nicely.

Speaking of "mates", the housemates came up with a few great ideas today. Flintstones condoms for kids ahah and Flintstone vitamin lubricant, where you can absorb vitamins through use of the lubricant. I noted that there would be a very healthy crop of middle school age boys shortly after we released it. Haha, we're not perverts, I swear!

Oh gosh, what else is going on? Not much, I'm totally apathetic about everything right now. The paper sapped the life out of me. I don't know how I'm going to get up the energy to study for my remaining two exams. But there are a few lights at the end of the tunnel. One I won't mention in this forum and the other is my 21st birthday!!! Which none of you will be here for =( Which actually, I was thinking about, is bullshit, so when we get back in the fall, I'm throwing a MASSIVE shindig to celebrate it and no one can stop me (I think the other summer birthdays who get denied parties should be represented as well).

I drank 10 cans of Diet Coke in the past two days. It's getting to be ridiculous. I should have insane amounts of energy, but I just want to chill and fall asleep.

Well, I'm sure this is a terribly boring entry, but it's finals! Cut me some slack. Hope you all are doing better than I and the best of luck. Hugs and Kisses.
